Hybrid Intelligence in Decision Support and a Use Case: Predictive Crisis Management

With the rise of AI and the demand for digital transformation, both the public and private actors increasingly want to use intelligent decision systems in the data-driven world. However, basically due to trustworthy and accuracy concerns and accuracy & precision problems users/clients hesitate to have or use such systems. To address these problems, the project, Smart NAvigator, has special focus on developing a novel approach and system architecture by integrating human and machine components to generate a unique hybrid intelligence approach. Secondly, improving the concept and architecture of a beforehand developed model for predictions and simulations with high accuracy.

As key deliverables; a novel system architecture for Hybrid Intelligence approach in decision technology has been developed; for complex network analysis an innovative Multi-Space Analysis Model configured; and accordingly policy briefs and papers related to the achievements were published.

It is addressed to Non-technical executives and mid-senior staff at companies especially operating in strategic sectors & staff at the public bodies.

The outcomes of this expedition provide a high value knowledge base for researchers, practitioners, and AI experts. Further, the use of hybrid intelligence to address the challenges of AI in the public and private sectors, has potential to ensure ethical and responsible AI, human-centric intelligent decision systems.

I have gained deep insight especially on hybridisation of rule/pattern-based and knowledge graph approaches to event & object recognition and relation extraction in complex environments; and proper integration with data collection and processing and dynamic ontology structure. With such hybridisation, it can be easy to address challenges of getting high accuracy rates for detection and relation extraction in complex and dynamic cases.

Very fruitful and insightful collaborative working conditions were established between the US Node and the explorer. A.Ridwan Hossain, PhD Researcher at the New Jersey Institute of Technology has indicated that 'Smart Navigator project has great potential to address challenges of AI in decision technology in the future" and Arif Hossain, PhD researcher at the New Jersey Institute of Technology highlighted "innovative features and high accuracy rates of the Smart Navigator in complex event and object recognition process".

I truly appreciate the NGI Explorer program for providing a very fruitful and insightful ground for a collaborative research and development environment which accelerates my exploration.
